Ravello Painting
Description
Ravello, high above the Amalfi Coast. A domed bell tower in cream and orange rises among the rooftops, with lemons hanging in the foreground. Far below, the sea is a flat, brilliant blue crossed by small coloured sails, and a terrace of pink and red flowers runs along the edge.
Every colour is its own piece of glass. Made with the glass fusion technique: sheets of coloured Murano glass are cut by hand, composed piece by piece and fused in the kiln into a single panel, then set in a pale wooden frame, ready to hang. The outlines are drawn by hand and the smallest details are added grain by grain, so they stay raised on the surface.
Original Murano glass, made entirely by hand in Italy by master glassmakers: no two panels are ever the same. On the wall, the light moves across its surface through the day.
Material & craft
Murano glass, coloured with minerals and worked entirely by hand in Murano, Venice. Each sheet is cut, layered and fired in the kiln, piece by piece.
- Handmade in Murano, Italy
- Fused Murano glass
- One of a kind: colour, bubbles and texture are never twice the same
Size & care
Sizes are approximate: every piece is shaped by hand, so dimensions can vary by a few centimetres from one piece to the next.
Dust with a soft, dry cloth. If needed, clean gently with a slightly damp cloth and dry immediately. Avoid abrasive products, the dishwasher and sudden changes in temperature.
Shipping & returns
Timing depends on whether your piece is in stock. If it is, it leaves Italy as soon as it is packed. If it is not, we make it by hand for you: this takes from 2 to 6 weeks, the time the kilns and the handwork need. Either way, we will take care to get it to you as quickly as we can.
Every shipment is insured and tracked, worldwide. Full details on our shipping page and in our return policy.
