Pop Art Frida Square Plate
Description
A face you recognise at once. Frida Kahlo looks out with her dark, steady gaze and the single line of her brows, her black hair braided high and crowned with flowers in red, orange, yellow and deep blue. Her skin is built from warm tones of peach, amber and yellow, her lips are a firm red, and a small white hand hangs from her ear as an earring. Around her the garden closes in: broad blue leaves, pink blossom, thin dark branches and a sky of broken blues and turquoise.
Every colour is its own piece of glass. Made with the glass fusion technique: sheets of coloured Murano glass are cut by hand, composed piece by piece and fused in the kiln, where the plate also takes its gentle curve. The flowers in her hair are layered one over another, so they stand out from the surface, and the fine lines of the eyes and brows are drawn by hand.
Original Murano glass, made entirely by hand in Italy by master glassmakers: no two plates are ever the same. Display it as a centrepiece, on a stand or on the wall. A portrait of strength and colour, for a room that is not afraid of either.

Size & care
Sizes are approximate: every piece is shaped by hand, so dimensions can vary by a few centimetres from one piece to the next.
Dust with a soft, dry cloth. If needed, clean gently with a slightly damp cloth and dry immediately. Avoid abrasive products, the dishwasher and sudden changes in temperature.
Shipping & returns
Timing depends on whether your piece is in stock. If it is, it leaves Italy as soon as it is packed. If it is not, we make it by hand for you: this takes from 2 to 6 weeks, the time the kilns and the handwork need. Either way, we will take care to get it to you as quickly as we can.
